The 6 Best Mood-Boosting Essential Oils to Help With Depression: Uses, Benefits, and More

One holistic wellness approach to combat depression is through the aromatic health benefits of mood-boosting essential oils. Chemicals in essential oils trigger receptors in your nose that eventually affect parts of your brain that control your mood. Aromatherapy has also been studied for its effects on relieving symptoms of depression.

Depression is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. It may be caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, a traumatic experience, genetic disposition, or a combination of factors. It affects the mental, emotional, physical, and social aspects of a person’s life. It can deeply impact an individual’s way of living and plans for the future.

It is crucial that a depressed person gets help from a healthcare practitioner, from friends and family, or a support group. It sometimes takes a holistic approach to bring back the light within a person who has struggled through dark and tough times.

Here at Aroma Foundry, we help you bring back your light through our essential oils. Certain essential oils and blends can trigger your brain to release feel-good hormones and ultimately help you battle depression. We created this article as a guide for all the information that you may want to know about essential oil benefits. We also created the Mood Booster Collection, a set made up of the best mood-boosting essential oils.

We did a side-by-side comparison with two of the world's biggest essential oil brands.
